1PM on Saturday August 9th 2013 will mark the start of Migration’s 3nd annual Migrating Towards A Cure. This annual event is our effort to assist local families and organizations that are working towards curing and assisting those who have been diagnosed with severe illnesses and disabilities.
Migrating Towards a Cure was created in 2012 to help a local family who is near and dear to Migration. This family had the unfortunate circumstances of both parents being diagnosed with cancer, which led Migration to help out and raise $5,000 in this inaugural event.
This year’s beneficiary will be CHAP (Children’s Healing Art Project) an amazing organization whose mission is to: “bring the healing power of art to children in crisis through a mobile team of teaching artists working in a partnership with hospitals, community organizations and schools. At CHAP, children are known for their creativity and ingenuity—not by their disease, diagnosis or disability.”
Migration will partner with Casta and DJ Queasy who have graciously donated their time and musical ability to help raise money for Migrating Towards Cure. They will also be partnering with Pips and Bounce, a local pop up Ping-Pong Company who is graciously donating the use of 4 Ping-Pong tables for the day. Migration will be donating a sizeable percent of house sales from the day and all revenue graciously donated from patrons.
This is a great cause that I think everyone can get behind, so stop by and enjoy some great beer and help out a worth cause.
